Panama Favorite Adventures
Our Panama Favorite Adventures
We only had a few weeks to explore Panama so we barely scratched the surface of the many adventures that await in this amazing country. Here are a few of our favorites.
# 1. Exploring Bocas Del Toro
Bocas Del Toro is a Caribbean archipelago with beautiful beaches and great scuba diving, snorkeling and surfing. We didn’t have an opportunity to explore it on our trip, but have heard great things about it from one of our friends who has completed several surfing trips to the area.
# 2. Exploring the Azuero Peninsula
The Azuero Peninsula is a large peninsula in southern Panama. It offers a perfect mix of beautiful beaches, charming towns and uncrowded surf breaks. It also has some of the best weather in Panama. We chose to stay at a hostel in Playa Venao, using it as a base camp from which to explore nearby beaches.

# 3. Exploring Volcán Barú National Park
Volcán Barú National Park is a beautiful park surrounding an active stratovolcano and the tallest mountain in the Chiriquí Highlands. It is also one of the best places in the world to see Resplendent Quetzals.
# 4. Scuba Diving in Coiba National Park
Coiba National Park is an archipelago off of the Pacific cost of Panama with amazing scuba diving and snorkeling, including the opportunity to dive with hammerhead sharks.

# 5. Surfing in Santa Catalina
Santa Catalina is known as a surf town on the Pacific Coast of Panama. However, it’s also a great base from which to complete scuba diving trips to Coiba National Park.
# 6. Exploring Indigenous Communities in Coclé and Darien National Park
We have also heard good things about Coclé Province and Darien National Park, both of which are in remote regions of Panama and offer opportunities to explore indigenous communities.
