Cuckoo for Coconuts in the Caribbean
“Best. Treat. Ever.”
One of my absolute favorite things about this trip? Coconuts. I love coconuts.
It all started when I was a pup and my human mom used coconut oil as lotion. I’d sneak a lick here and there (for quality control purposes, of course). Since then, it’s been a full-blown obsession.
In Mexico, there were coconuts everywhere—and the Caribbean has even more! Trees full of them. Beaches littered with them. Some just waiting to be discovered… or dropped dramatically from above.

Best. Treat. Ever.
What I didn’t realize until recently is just how versatile a coconut really is.
- Need a game of fetch? Coconut.
- Want something to chew? Coconut.
- Bored? Try coconut gazing. (Trust me—hours of entertainment.)
- Want to feel challenged? Try cracking one open. (Still working on that.)
Honestly, coconuts are way tougher than my “indestructible” chew toys. But the best part? The inside.
Best. TREAT. Ever.
Who knew that my beloved coconut oil came from this magical orb of tropical joy? Now if only I could figure out how to open them without human assistance… or thumbs.
