Endings and New Beginnings
“At the End of the World “
As we prepared for our trip back to Boulder, I found myself reflecting on everything we had experienced and learned along the way—and I knew that this journey had changed the course of my future.
Over the course of our travels, I spent a lot of time thinking about my dreams and purpose, especially how to create more alignment between my personal and professional life. I also had the chance to develop and hone skills—from overlanding to photography—that I know will stay with me for a lifetime. The trip gave us the rare opportunity to not just visit, but to immerse ourselves in a variety of cultures, including many indigenous communities. While there were regions we simply passed through, there were many others where we were able to spend meaningful time, gaining a deeper understanding of history, daily life, and forging lifelong friendships.

At the End of the World
But by far, the most profound gift of this trip was the time spent with my wife—and the deepening of our relationship. This journey didn’t begin as her dream, but she embraced it wholeheartedly and made it her own. Together, we navigated challenges ranging from wild outdoor adventures to white-knuckle roads, and those shared experiences have made life’s “everyday” challenges feel more manageable. More importantly, they have allowed us to build a shared vision for the future—one rooted in our dreams, our growth, and our passion for life and the world.
And that, above all else, is what I will carry with me.
